If you’ve selected the Paris: 1 Hour Seine River Cruise Tour with Optional Louvre Museum Ticket, your experience begins with a journey through one of the world’s most extraordinary cultural treasures, the Louvre Museum. Situated in the heart of Paris, this architectural masterpiece stands as a symbol of art, history, and imagination. As you step inside, you’ll enter a world filled with timeless beauty, where every corridor leads to a new discovery.
Wander through grand galleries that house over 35,000 artworks, spread across 73,000 square meters of exhibition space. The museum’s three wings, Denon, Sully, and Richelieu, each hold their own marvels, from ancient sculptures to Renaissance masterpieces. Stop by the museum’s most famous resident, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, and witness her enigmatic smile up close. Continue your exploration through vast halls filled with Greek and Roman statues, Egyptian relics, and Islamic art, all meticulously curated to showcase centuries of human creativity and expression.
The Louvre’s origins date back to the 12th century, when it was built as a fortress to protect Paris. Later transformed into a royal palace, it became the official residence of French kings before being turned into a museum during the French Revolution in 1793. Today, it stands not only as the largest museum in the world but also as one of the most visited, attracting nearly 10 million visitors annually. The museum’s eight departments, including Decorative Arts, Paintings, Sculptures, and Prints and Drawings, together form a stunning panorama of world civilizations, from Ancient Egypt to 19th-century Europe.
After your museum visit, your adventure continues with a 1-hour Seine River cruise, offering a completely different perspective of Paris. Step aboard a modern, glass-covered boat with spacious open-air decks designed for panoramic views. As you gently glide down the Seine, admire the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral. The riverbanks themselves are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, lined with historic bridges, charming houseboats, and elegant Parisian architecture.
During your cruise, enjoy an audio guide in your preferred language that brings each monument to life with fascinating stories and historical insights. This seamless blend of art, history, and scenic beauty makes for an unforgettable Parisian experience, one that captures the soul of the City of Light from both land and water.
